A426 Dunchurch Cross Roads Closure
The cross roads in the centre of Dunchurch is due to be closed off
for resurfacing on the Sunday 9Th March. From the map it appears
the Southam- Rugby road from the corner shop through the cross
roads past the hotel to the thatched cottages on the corner is being
resurfaced. The Coventry-Daventry Road will be closed some for
distance from the junction.
The following is part of communication with the Council:
At this stage we are going to stick with the programme of shutting
the cross roads on the 9th March. The road will be closed from
08:00 until 23:00.
There will be very limited access in Dunchurch (I suggest you
advise people to avoid Dunchurch and gain access from Southam)
I suggest that people from the South of you gain access via
Southam onto the A426 (see below).
People coming from the North should gain access via the A45 onto
the B4455 (Fosse Way) then down the A423 to Southam and in that
way.
I advise that people from the North of you follow the diversion
signs. On the A45/B4455 Fosse Way junction there will be signs
stating "Draycote Water open follow diversion". This will lead them
to Southam on the A423. At Southam we will have another sign at
the A423/A426 junction saying "Draycote water open access this
way".
This is especially applicable to cars/vans towing boats from the
open meeting, others more local may wish to venture down the
country lanes (some single track).
